The Ultimate Fighting Championship has signed undefeated bantamweight prospect Asaf Chopurov, Sherdog reported. The 24-year-old Azerbaijani standout joins the promotion with a pristine 11-0 professional record following a prolific amateur career in which he went 34-1.

Nicknamed "Honey Badger," Chopurov has proven to be a dangerous finisher, ending 10 of his 11 professional bouts inside the distance. Prior to signing with the UFC, he captured the vacant UAE Warriors bantamweight championship last year and successfully defended the title twice. In a social media post announcing the signing, Chopurov stated that his primary goal is to capture UFC gold.

Chopurov is expected to make his promotional debut at UFC 333 on Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi, where he is slated to face Colby Thicknesse (9-1). The event is set to be headlined by Chopurov's training partner, UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan, who will put his title on the line in a trilogy matchup against Merab Dvalishvili.
