The UFC has parted ways with another undefeated fighter. Afghan-born British contender Farid Basharat (16-0) has been removed from the promotion's active roster after the organization declined to renew his contract, according to a report from MMA Fighting.

Basharat earned his entry into the promotion through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022 and compiled a spotless 7-0 record inside the Octagon. He fulfilled the final fight of his contract in July with a victory over John Garza, but MMA Fighting reported that he was not offered a new deal. Over his promotional tenure, Basharat picked up wins over Da’Mon Blackshear, Jean Matsumoto, and Chris Gutierrez, with six of his seven UFC victories coming by way of decision.

Basharat joins Muhammad Mokaev and Michael Page among fighters who parted ways with the UFC following winning streaks without receiving contract renewals. His exit also follows that of his brother, Javid Basharat, who left the promotion in February and subsequently joined the Professional Fighters League. Javid won his final UFC bout, finishing his last four promotional appearances with a 1-2 record and one no contest.
