The Ultimate Fighting Championship rewarded four fighters with $100,000 performance bonuses following its recent trip to Edmonton, Canada, Sherdog reported.
Headlining the bonus recipients was main event winner Mike Malott, who delivered an instant knockout-of-the-year contender against Joaquin Buckley. Malott connected with a well-timed knee that knocked Buckley out cold, securing the biggest victory of his career. With the finish, the Canadian improved his professional record to 15-2-1 and extended his active UFC winning streak to five fights.
Two other main card competitors also collected six-figure bonus checks. Mandel "Mango" Nallo earned his award by stopping promotional veteran Nate Landwehr via second-round TKO behind a brutal leg kick and punches. In addition, Marc-Andre Barriault showcased his toughness by knocking out Kyle Daukaus with elbows, successfully snapping a two-fight losing skid.
Heavyweight Joel Faglier rounded out the night's bonus winners by scoring an upset victory over Javad Mahjoub. Faglier's dedicated body attack paid dividends as Mahjoub became visibly exhausted in the second round. With the victory, the undefeated Faglier moved to 7-0 overall and 1-0 inside the Octagon.
