Tony Ferguson has a new challenger on short notice for his upcoming ring appearance. Misfits Boxing announced Tuesday that Ferguson is now set to defend his middleweight title against former Olympic wrestler Mahmoud Sebie this Saturday at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. Ferguson was originally scheduled to face Kenzo Biyong, but Biyong was forced to withdraw from the bout due to travel complications.

Ferguson steps into the boxing ring to defend his championship following an appearance in another combat discipline earlier this summer. In his most recent outing, Ferguson suffered a loss via technical fall to Arman Tsarukyan at RAF 10 in June.

Sebie enters the matchup with an extensive international wrestling background. He represented Egypt as a Greco-Roman wrestler at the 2016 Olympic Games before later attempting to join Team USA. Following the postponement of the 2020 Games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sebie retired from wrestling competition. He has also competed for RAF, where he suffered a tech fall defeat against Zahid Valencia at RAF 6.

Saturday's Misfits Boxing event is headlined by former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo, who makes his professional boxing debut against an actor and prospect from Most Valuable Promotions.
