UFC champion Sean Strickland revealed on Tuesday that he was involved in a motorcycle accident alongside a friend. In a video shared to his Instagram account, Strickland displayed scrapes across his head and shoulder resulting from the crash, which he stated occurred at around 60 mph while he was riding without a helmet.
According to Strickland, the accident took place after he let his friend, Chris, take the wheel. "I let my buddy drive, he rolled us going, like 60," Strickland said. "That was from my head smacking the ground, going 60, did not have a helmet on.
That was just from rolling and smacking the concrete and the dirt. F*ck, I’m in a real bad place right now." Although Strickland did not appear to be seriously injured, he noted he planned to rest and "sleep it off."
In a follow-up update, Strickland reported that his friend briefly lost consciousness and was hospitalized, though he expects him to recover. Strickland, who has been sidelined by shoulder injuries that have delayed his next title defense, termed the incident "the most fun thing I’ve done in a very long time" and mentioned that Rainbet stated they would cover the incident.
