Undefeated prospect Regina Tarin is focused on her mixed martial arts career, but a future crossover into professional wrestling remains on the table. Ahead of her upcoming flyweight bout against veteran JJ Aldrich, the Mexican standout told MMA Fighting that she participated in a WWE tryout in January, shortly before securing a short-notice UFC debut in February. Tarin went on to defeat Ernesta Kareckaite by decision to push her professional record to 8-0.
Tarin explained that WWE initially reached out to her through Instagram, where she commands an audience of more than 500,000 followers. Although she was accepted following the tryout, the UFC called just three days later. With both promotions operating under the TKO Group umbrella, Tarin prioritized MMA because "passion comes first," though she stated she remains open to exploring WWE down the line or even doing both at the same time.
For now, the 21-year-old is fully focused on her progression inside the Octagon. Heading into her matchup with Aldrich, Tarin noted that having a full training camp and a proper weight cut will allow her to deliver a much stronger showing than in her promotional debut. Tarin, who turned professional in 2023 following an extensive amateur career, enters the contest boasting a 75 percent finishing rate.
