Raul Rosas Jr. Submits Colby Covington in 40 Seconds at Hype FC

Raul Rosas Jr. secured a rapid victory on Tuesday, submitting former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington in only 40 seconds in a submission-grappling match at Hype FC, held at the Pala Pellicone in Rome, Italy.

Covington was originally scheduled to headline the event against Dillon Danis, but Danis withdrew just one day before the contest for undisclosed reasons. Rosas Jr., who attended the Hype FC press conference, agreed to step in on 24 hours' notice. The defeat represents Covington's first loss since his final UFC bout in 2024. Prior to this match, Covington had amassed five consecutive victories under the Real American Freestyle banner, defeating Danis, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, Arman Tsarukyan, and Belal Muhammad. Covington is scheduled to return to action against Khamzat Chimaev at RAF Abu Dhabi on Nov.

14, while Rosas Jr. is booked to make his RAF debut against Clay Guida at RAF 15 on Nov. 28.
