New Footage Shows Alex Pereira's Coach Protesting KO Loss to Ciryl Gane

Newly released corner footage from the UFC has revealed the intense reaction from Alex Pereira's team during his second-round knockout loss to Ciryl Gane at the historic UFC White House event in June. Gane initially captured the interim heavyweight title with the stoppage victory, which was later elevated to undisputed championship status.

In the aftermath of the fight, Pereira's camp raised concerns regarding strikes to the back of the head when Gane had Pereira badly hurt in a pivotal exchange. In the new corner footage published by the promotion, Pereira's head coach Plinio Cruz can be seen and heard shouting "back of the head" toward referee Herb Dean. Pereira himself has also been vocal with his criticism of Dean's officiating following the defeat.

Both fighters are now slated for high-profile matchups. Gane is scheduled to make his first undisputed title defense against Josh Hokit in the main event of UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden. Meanwhile, "Poatan" looks to earn another opportunity to become the first three-division champion in UFC history when he meets Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event of UFC 335.
