Newly released bodycam footage has revealed extended details surrounding the June 21 arrest of former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier at Atlanta International Airport. Poirier was taken into custody for public drunkenness after being removed from an airplane and causing a scene, displaying aggressive and erratic behavior toward gate agents and responding officers.

Initial footage showed Poirier attempting to square up and challenging a responding officer to a fight before briefly submitting to arrest. In the extended footage, Poirier repeatedly argued with law enforcement, claiming he had previously served time in a penitentiary. While an officer temporarily calmed him down by discussing his children, Poirier became agitated again while being escorted to the airport police station. When an officer reminded him that the public and his fans would see the footage, Poirier directed profanities toward them.

Tensions escalated further when officers attempted to move Poirier from an airport holding cell. Video captured Poirier stepping through his handcuffs to bring his hands to his front, shouting obscenities, and again offering to fight the officers as they attempted to re-cuff him behind his back. After demanding they unlock his restraints, Poirier was returned to the holding cell to cool down before officers ultimately transported him to a local jail.
