The UFC women's flyweight division is set to crown a new champion this Saturday at UFC 332, taking place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The vacant 125-pound title will be on the line in the main event between top contender Natalia Silva and Wang Cong.
Silva enters the championship bout riding an impressive 14-fight winning streak. She was originally scheduled to challenge longtime divisional champion Valentina Shevchenko, but the matchup was scrapped after Shevchenko suffered an injury, forcing her to withdraw and vacate the flyweight belt.
With the title vacated, Wang stepped in to seize the championship opportunity. Wang notably holds a previous kickboxing victory over Shevchenko. Silva, whose game relies on taekwondo-rooted distance management, movement, and athletic clinch work, looks to capitalize on the opportunity to claim UFC gold.
