Flyweight prospect Marcos Degli is set to fight for a UFC contract Tuesday night in Las Vegas, squaring off against Paris Moran on Dana White’s Contender Series. Degli, who was named one of the top Brazilian prospects to watch in 2024, enters the Octagon audition on a 12-fight winning streak that includes 11 finishes. He built his momentum in LFA, where he claimed and defended the flyweight championship through a trio of knockout victories.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, Degli credited the public backing of Vale Top Team teammate Carlos Prates for boosting his confidence and visibility heading into the bout. Degli emphasized that his finishing ability will set him apart in the UFC's 125-pound division, noting that while exciting young fighters are entering the weight class, few possess true knockout power.
Degli has previously sought opportunities to step into the UFC on short notice. He traveled to Perth to support Prates when the latter defeated Jack Della Maddalena, volunteering during fight week to move up in weight to replace Jack Jenkins. Earlier this year, manager Lucas Lutkus also contacted Degli regarding a potential short-notice fight against former champion Brandon Moreno when Asu Almabayev needed a replacement, an opportunity Degli was ready to accept.
