Former UFC fighter Khusein Askhabov has had his recent victory overturned to a disqualification defeat following an incident during an event in Denmark. The Danish Mixed Martial Arts Federation (DMMAF) announced the decision after reviewing Askhabov's bout against Reinaldo Ekson at Airtox Dominance FC 8, which took place on Oct. 17 in Copenhagen.

During the contest, the referee called a timeout due to a suspected eye poke. According to the DMMAF, Askhabov attempted to attack Ekson while the bout was halted. Although the match was initially stopped and Askhabov was declared the winner by technical knockout, the governing body stepped in to review the footage.

Following its review, the federation officially changed the result, awarding Ekson the victory via disqualification. In addition to altering the outcome, the DMMAF board handed down a 12-month disciplinary suspension to Askhabov and his corner team, barring them from all DMMAF-sanctioned events and activities as fighters or cornermen.

Askhabov made his lone UFC appearance in 2023, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jamall Emmers in what marked his first career professional defeat. Later that year, a scheduled UFC matchup against Daniel Pineda was canceled after Askhabov was arrested in Thailand, where authorities questioned him regarding allegations of kidnapping, torture, and extortion before reports later confirmed that the charges were dropped.
