Jean Silva secured a third-round submission victory over Jose Delgado in the main event of Noche UFC 4 on Sept. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. After surviving an early knockdown, the Brazilian shifted momentum in the second frame before forcing Delgado to submit to a rear-naked choke in the third round, improving his record to 18-3.

While official record books list the bout as Silva's second Ultimate Fighting Championship headliner, he considers the clash against Delgado (12-3) to be his first. Silva previously headlined Noche UFC 3 last year against Diego Lopes. In that bout, Lopes dominated the opening round before Silva rebounded with heavy damage in the second. However, Lopes subsequently dropped Silva with a spinning back elbow and followed up with heavy ground-and-pound to secure the stoppage.

Following his win over Delgado, Silva explained at the post-fight press conference that the defeat to Lopes wiped away his memory of that night, as reported by Sherdog. "Lord" stated that he spoke to his corner before stepping into the Octagon to address the missing recollections from his past appearance.

"I pulled my [team] aside in a corner before the fight tonight and told them, 'I don't have any memory,'" Silva said. "I wanted it said because I wanted to have the memory of my first main event and I do not have any of that. I know the history books are going to say this is my second main event, but to me it was the first. So, I'm very happy that tonight I was able to make good memories and I will remember them forever."
