Undefeated UFC welterweight contender Jacobe Smith remains eager to settle his differences with Kevin Holland, whether their meeting takes place inside the Octagon or on the street. The two fighters were previously scheduled to clash at UFC Oklahoma City in July and again at UFC 332 on Oct. 3 in Salt Lake City, but both matchups fell apart after Holland withdrew due to injuries.
The repeated cancellations have left Smith frustrated, and he made it clear that he wants a victory over Holland to prove his superiority. Smith also claimed that Holland has been sending him provocative direct messages, which he believes could lead to physical hostility if the two cross paths outside of competition.
“I’ll never like him; I want that win on my record just to tell him I’m the big dog here,” Smith told Full Send MMA. “Put some respect on my name… I see us crossing paths outside of the cage and there being an altercation because of how he’s in the DMs. He didn’t do it face-to-face like that.”
Smith (13-0), who has finished all four of his UFC opponents, is set to return to action this Saturday against Randy Brown (20-8) at UFC Vegas 123 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Holland (29-15, 1 NC) is booked to face Uros Medic (14-3) at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
