UFC lightweight contender Grant Dawson is set to return to the Octagon against Nurullo Aliev at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi. Dawson (24-3-1) recently made an appearance on MMA Fighting's Anything But Fighting with José Youngs, taking time outside of training to discuss comic lore, voicing his ongoing frustration with Batman's "no killing" rule, his appreciation for animated series like Justice League and Teen Titans, and his take on Superman.
Inside the cage, Dawson recently rebounded from a setback. In his most recent outing at UFC 328 in May, "KGD" got back into the win column by choking out Mateusz Rębecki. That victory followed a knockout loss to Manuel Torres at UFC 323.
Dawson has built his UFC run on overwhelming ground control. To date, he holds the UFC lightweight division record for the highest control time percentage at 69.7 percent, while also maintaining the second-highest top-position percentage in divisional history at 62.3 percent.
