Yousri Belgaroui is preparing for his fourth Octagon appearance as he takes on middleweight contender Caio Borralho at UFC 334 on Nov. 14. The Dutch fighter enters the contest on the heels of a strong start to his promotional tenure, having won his first three UFC bouts by technical knockout.
Belgaroui's head coach, Glover Teixeira, told Sherdog that the fighter's dedicated focus on wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu has been instrumental in rounding out his game. According to Teixeira, Belgaroui consistently puts in extra effort on the mats beyond regular team sessions. "Yousri trains a lot and picks things up very quickly. Sometimes we finish training, everyone is tired, and he grabs someone doing wrestling or jiu-jitsu and rolls for another 20 minutes," Teixeira said.
Borralho brings significantly more UFC experience into the matchup and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Reinier de Ridder in March. Despite the steep challenge, Teixeira expressed confidence in Belgaroui's ability to blend his striking with his evolving ground skills.
"Caio is without a doubt one of the biggest challenges in the division, but Yousri has an impressive sense of distance and is getting more and more confident in his grappling," Teixeira said. "There's no doubt he's becoming a complete MMA fighter and he'll be very well prepared for this fight."
