Eric Nolan secured his first Octagon victory on Saturday at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, but he opted to share the spotlight following his third-round stoppage of Court McGee. After outstriking McGee on the feet and dropping him with a right hand to seal the win, Nolan cut his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan short so the retiring veteran could address his home crowd.

The bout marked the final appearance of a lengthy UFC career for McGee, 41, who won Season 11 of "The Ultimate Fighter" in 2010. McGee spent more than 16 years competing under the UFC banner, compiling an 11-14 promotional record and a 22-15 overall career mark before deciding to hang up his gloves.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Nolan explained that he would not have yielded his Octagon mic time for anyone else. Having dropped his first two bouts in the promotion prior to Saturday, Nolan said McGee's longevity earned that level of deference.

"Any other opponent, I'd take the mic and talk my sh*t, get out of there," Nolan said. "But you spend 16 years in the UFC, man, you're a badass motherf*cker. You take that mic on your retirement and I'll talk after."
