Dominick Reyes secured his second consecutive victory on Saturday at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, defeating Azamat Murzakanov in under three minutes with a head kick and a follow-up left hand. The stoppage marked a decisive turnaround from his previous split decision win against Johnny Walker in April, but Reyes was far from pleased with how the bout was called from the commentary desk.

Following the broadcast, Reyes took to social media to call out commentator Daniel Cormier for referring to him as "kid" and showing favoritism toward Murzakanov. Cormier is a longtime friend and teammate of Dagestani standouts Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. Reyes accused Cormier of a lack of preparation and argued that fellow commentator Paul Felder had even called Cormier out during the broadcast for his regional bias toward fighters from the Caucasus region.

Cormier responded online to defend his commentary and de-escalate the dispute, stating that he calls fights honestly based on the action in the Octagon. Cormier explained that he praised Reyes for his performance against Murzakanov just as he had accurately critiqued the prior Walker fight, noting that he had even told Reyes' team it might have been the best performance of his career. Reyes, however, showed little interest in reconciling, offering a brief rebuttal to Cormier's explanation.
