Carlos Calderon is reportedly set to make his Octagon debut on just four days' notice, stepping in to face Austin Bashi in a featherweight matchup at UFC Vegas 124 this Saturday at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. According to a report from Marcel Dorff, Calderon replaces Lucas Brennan, who was forced to withdraw from the scheduled bout after suffering a torn ACL.

Calderon (11-4, 1 NC), known as "The Chief," enters the promotion on a three-fight winning streak. The reigning Fury Fighting Championship featherweight titleholder claimed the regional belt in May by defeating former UFC competitor Damon Jackson, and subsequently defended his crown against Lorram Esteves in October. After coming up short against Alberto Montes on Dana White's Contender Series in 2024, Calderon has built significant momentum with a 5-1 run in Fury FC.

He will square off against the 25-year-old Bashi (14-2), who earned his UFC contract on DWCS in 2024 with an undefeated record. However, Bashi has struggled inside the Octagon, dropping two of his three promotional bouts. He looks to get back on track after suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Jose Delgado in his most recent appearance.
