Austin Bashi will remain on Saturday's UFC Vegas 124 card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas after Fury FC featherweight champion Carlos Calderon agreed to step up on just four days' notice. Calderon replaces Lucas Brennan, who was forced to withdraw after suffering a torn ACL, according to a report by MMA Fighting.

Calderon (11-4, 1 NC) makes his promotional debut riding a three-fight winning streak and having won five of his past six bouts. Nicknamed "The Chief," Calderon is coming off the first successful defense of his Fury FC title, having secured a five-round unanimous decision victory over Lorram Esteves in October.

Bashi (14-2) will look to rebound following an up-and-down run since earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024. After losing his undefeated record to Christian Rodriguez in his promotional debut, Bashi rebounded with a first-round submission against John Yannis before dropping a decision to Jose Delgado in July.

UFC Vegas 124 is scheduled to be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker, with strawweight contenders Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba squaring off in the co-main event.
