Arman Tsarukyan is set to receive his long-awaited UFC lightweight title opportunity. Speaking to MMA Fighting ahead of his matchup against Dillon Danis at RAF 14, Tsarukyan stated that he has been assured his next walk to the Octagon will be for the 155-pound championship.

Tsarukyan was originally scheduled to challenge Islam Makhachev for the lightweight belt at UFC 311 last year, but health issues forced him out of the contest just one day prior to the event. The contender has since worked his way back into contention, most recently scoring a knockout victory over Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 in September. Although reigning champion Justin Gaethje is currently contemplating retirement, Tsarukyan indicated his title opportunity remains intact.

The surging lightweight noted that he had considered dropping down to featherweight if a 155-pound title shot was not granted, but he now plans to stay put. Riding a six-fight winning streak in the UFC, Tsarukyan emphasized his goal to capture the belt, break division records, and defend the championship as frequently as possible once he reaches the top.
