Alex Pereira and Sergei Pavlovich are set to collide in the heavyweight co-main event of UFC 335 on Dec. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Heading into the clash, Pereira (13-4) is preparing for an aggressive approach from the dangerous Russian knockout artist (21-3).
Speaking on Connect Cast, "Poatan" stated that while he expects Pavlovich to rely on his heavy power out of the gate, he anticipates his opponent will switch to grappling if the punches fail to find their mark. “I think against me, maybe he might think, ‘I’m going to unleash the machine gun and knock this guy out,’” Pereira said. “I don’t know what happens, but he might unleash the machine gun, and if he can’t land his shots, he might try to wrestle me to wear me out. But I’m getting ready; I’m excited about the training and everything I’ve been doing with the team.”
Pavlovich enters the contest riding a three-fight winning streak, most recently needing just 39 seconds to dispatch Tallison Teixeira. Pereira, on the other hand, will look to rebound after suffering a stoppage loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
