Tensions continue to rise ahead of the upcoming women’s bantamweight co-main event at UFC Vegas 121 on Sept. 16, where Ailin Perez is scheduled to face Norma Dumont. The matchup features serious bad blood, with both fighters trading barbs outside the Octagon leading up to the bout.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Perez detailed a heated backstage encounter that took place at the UFC Performance Institute following Dumont’s victory over Ketlen Vieira. According to the Argentine fighter, Dumont and several members of her team confronted her in a bathroom at the facility, warning her that she was next and threatening to knock her out. Perez stated that their respective friends had to step in to separate the two fighters before a physical altercation broke out.

The friction between the two extends beyond that confrontation. Perez previously accused Dumont’s boyfriend, UFC middleweight Marco Tulio, of checking her out at the UFC PI, while Dumont claimed Tulio had to block Perez on social media due to repeated tagging. While Dumont has welcomed the chance to legally hurt Perez inside the cage, Perez noted that she does not take the rivalry too personally and actively embraces viral feuds to help market fights in the division.
